At Credit Karma we spent a lot of time optimizing our digital presence. When we evolved our brand in 2016 we took the opportunity to launch a whole fleet of entirely new display ads. These banners leveraged concepts I made for the previous visual identity. Each banner provided incredible lift in click-through rate (CTR) and conversion rate (CVR) due to the new visual identity and enhanced animations.
I use Google Web Designer to create extra light-weight interactive animated banners. All HTML5 Banners are code based and feature code-based graphics (SVGs) which allows for banners to do more by loading faster.
I create vector storyboards in Sketch before animating by hand. The launch of Credit Karma Tax gave the opportunity for more immersive digital billboards featured on the homepages of AOL, MSN, and other high traffic sites.
